Let Me Prove DEC 25 = OCT 31

I am not trying to Bamboozle You!!

Let me explicate and provide you with an epexegesis to prove myself. 

Let's consider the numbers in the Decimal system (DEC):

0    1    2    3    4    5    6    7    8    9

The first ten digits are called the Decimal System.

When we reach the last digit 9 of our ten digits, we tend to take the second digit 1 in the list and write each number from 0 to 9 after it. Hence, we get,

10    11    12    13    14    15    16    17    18    19.

We have to stop again because we have used the 1 and the 9. To get the third column, we use the third digit (2) followed by all of the ten digits, giving us

   20    21    22    23    24    25    26    27    28    29.

What if we did not have ten digits on our hands (4 fingers and thumbs)? Would the number system differ if we had 8 digits?

Let's see. The number system with 8 numbers would be 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. Let's call this the Octal (OCT) System. using our previous knowledge from the decimal system we can easily list the numbers in the second, third, and fourth column for the Octal system. The numbers would be as follows:

              0             1             2             3             4            5            6            7

10    11    12    13    14    15    16    17

20    21    22    23    24    25    26    27

            30    31    32    33    34    35    36    37, and so on.

  

Wow!! We did a lot of work. That took a lot of mettle to list those numbers.

Now that we have a considerable amount of numbers in both the Decimal and Octal systems we can list them together. The following table shows the first 25 digits in the Decimal System.

I hope I have provided irrefutable evidence above to show that Dec 25 = Oct 31. Happy belated Christmas.
